We have a brand new LighSheer DUET machine waiting for you!

Laser hair removal is a popular solution for unwanted body hair. You may be surprised to learn that virtually your entire body is covered with hair from fine peach fuzz like hair to course dark hair. When darker hair appears in places which make you uncomfortable, it may be time to consider hair removal with our LightSheer DUET.

Considered theĀ ‘GOLD STANDARD’Ā in laser hair removal and suitable for both men and women, the LightSheer Duet withĀ DIODE TECHNOLOGYĀ is the most innovative laser on the market. Due to LightSheer DUET’sĀ built-in ChillTipā„¢ sapphire continuous cooling technologyĀ to protect the skin and improve the comfort of our guests, treatment is virtually pain-free. It works with all skin types, hair types and most hair colours.*

The LightSheer DUET large handpiece with ‘vacuum assisted technology’ targets the largest spot size of any Diode on the market today. Our guests can expect quick and comfortable treatment of large areas, making hair removal at Brooklin Laser fast and without the use of anesthetics and cooling gels.

*Grey and white hairs do not respond well to laser hair removal treatments and therefore we would not recommend it. Information about electrolysis can be found here.

“I love shaving, plucking and tweezing.ā€  – No one ever

In the past, remedies for unwanted hair included plucking, shaving, waxing, electrolysis or chemical depilatories. Some of these methods are painful and/or messy, and all are temporary. Laser hair removal with the LightSheer DUET is a more effective, pain-free and permanent solution.

The High-Speed LightSheer DUET uses state-of-the-art diode lasers with vacuum-assist technology to remove unwanted hair and with greater speed and comfort than other methods.

The LightSheer DUET includes two optimal wavelengths of 800 mm diode hair removal systems on one versatile platform.Ā The LightSheer’s dual heads enable permanent hair reduction from all areas of the body. Its advanced technology reduces pain while increasing efficiency, enabling fast and comfortable treatments for patients. A larger spot size enables a greater depth of penetration for improved absorption of energy at the target follicle. With integrated vacuum-assist technology, the LightSheer DUET is the ONLY laser with unique and dedicated technology for painĀ reduction, enhanced efficiency and safety.

“Make unwanted hair a thing of the past.ā€  – People Everywhere

Lumenis’ LightSheer ‘Gold Standard’ diode technology by Lumenis has been validated in numerous clinical studies and peer-reviewed articles, world-wide. Our guests benefit from the LightSheer features and enjoy high satisfaction, allowing them to get the most out of their buck!

The LightSheer uses high-power diode technology that can deliver high fluency. This is combined with user-select pulse duration, effective contact cooling and compression for high performance. The LightSheer offers small spot and large spot sizes which allows for multi-depth penetrations.

Beyond the technology, you can rest assured that our ‘machine’ is out of the box and brand new in 2022. In fact, we had the same machine previously, and although it is one of the more expensive on the market, it proved to be a workhorse, so naturally, after 10 years — yes, even the best of the best only last 10 years — we ordered another one. The machines themselves are expensive but servicing machines with state-of-the-art technology is even more so. Read this well-explained article that puts it all out there, explaining the importance of regular maintenance and the costs behind laser hair removal machines — why some need to charge more than others.Ā

Many guests come to us because they aren’t seeing results from other salons or spas. Let’s face it, just like needing maintenance on a vehicle, home furnace or water heater, the expense can be unbearable. We know we need to do it, but sometimes money is needed in other areas first.Ā

Unfortunately, maintenance and repair costs are too high and many laser hair removal machines go unserviced and run sub-par.Ā Always ask to see the annual maintenance record. Simply put, having annual checkups helps ensure a highly technical laser hair removal machine is operating properly so that a salon or spa can continue to deliver the best results possible.

Another great question to ask when shopping around is the age of the laser hair removal machine. Generally, a professional-grade laser hair removal machine can be in use for 10 years. If the machine is approaching its peak, be sure its been maintained within the last 6 months, for sure!

We’re here for you! If you have a question, please reach out to Lori at info@brooklinlaser.com. She will take the time to give you transparent information about our equipment, our staff and our premium spa.

BE CAREFUL OF FALSE CLAIMS.Ā At Brooklin Laser Hair Removal Clinic & Spa, we are transparent about treatment times. Although most hair is reduced in 3 treatments, it’s just not possible for all the hair to be gone forever in that timeframe, regardless of the laser machine being used. You may have quicker results if you have had previous laser hair removal treatments or have super fine, low-dense hair.

And, here’s why:
Because 1/4 to 1/3 of the actively growing pigmented hair roots are damaged or destroyed in any one session, almost all people will want a minimum of four treatments to reach a satisfactory degree of hair reduction, and many people will wish to have more than four treatments, most commonly five to six treatments. In cases — for the reasons listed below in bullet format — additional sessions may be required directly after a package is complete; a few months later; a year later; or even many years down the road. This helps eliminate any new black or brown hairs that develop when dormant follicles started to produce hair, or when peach fuzz hair follicles mature and start to produce black or brown hair pigment.

The number of treatments desired will depend on:

  • the desired degree of hair reduction (as the number of hair declines, some people become very enthusiastic and want even less hair than they had originally planned on)
  • hair densityĀ (people with dense hair commonly need more treatments)
  • hair colour (people with naturally light coloured hair sometimes need more treatments)
  • ethnic and genetic background (people with dark skin sometimes need more treatments)
  • hormonal status (puberty, pregnancy, menopause, etc.)
  • medical conditions such as autoimmune diseases, hirsutism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), etc.
  • area being treated (upper lip, labia and other hormonal or public areas commonly need more treatments)
  • age
  • weight (obesity can increase hair growth)
  • medication (for example medicines like Dilantin and cyclosporine can increase hair growth)
  • between appointment maintenance (shave only — if the hair is plucked, tweezed, threaded, waxed or pulled out in any way between treatments, it will negatively affect the laser hair removal progress)
  • consistency and frequency of treatments (catching the Anagen phase. A hair that has stopped growing or is no longer in the anagen phase)

NOTE: A ‘touch-up’ treatment on a small troublesome or missed spot can be arranged ‘between’ each treatment, no questions asked! There is no safety limit on the number of treatments a person can have, however to get the most out of your laser hair removal sessions and to avoid your hair being on several growth cycles, it is best to come in within a few days of your laser hair removal treatment, as soon as you notice the troublesome or missed spot.

White or fine hair may be treated with electrolysis at the time of your laser appointments. Please click here for information.Ā

Please reach out for a free consultation and/or patch test so you may try before you buy.

We put together packages for those who wish to purchase in bulk.Ā You are welcome to purchase each laser session individually or as a package.Ā

When you purchase a package of 6, you are paying for 5 and getting the 5th FREE.
There is no way to predict how many sessions a guest will need. Each person is unique and the number of treatments needed will depend on the bullets listed above.

There is no way to predict how many laser hair removal sessions a guest will need. We can tell you that our LightSheer Duet Laser Hair Removal machine is new (January 2022); it’s manufactured in North America; and has Gold Standard Diode Technology, allowing you to get the most for your money!

The laser works best when hairs are in an early growth stage. Because all of the hairs are not in this phase at the same time, multiple treatments are required.

The appearance of the treated area immediately following treatment will vary from guest to guest, depending on the extent of the procedure and the skin type. Side effects are rare and, if they do occur, are typically minor. They may include redness and swelling around the hair follicle, indicating that the follicle has responded to treatment. Most people return to normal activity right away.

Yes. For sanitary/hygiene purposes, a $17 disposable tip fee will be applied to each laser session requiring the large hand-piece.

Multiple tips may be required for full body laser hair removal, or for areas with a lot of hair. As the hair is permanently reduced, fewer tips will be needed.Ā

The LightSheer DUETĀ is the real-deal — guests are shocked when seeingĀ the residue left behind after each laser session. Again,Ā one of the many reasons the Diode TechnologyĀ is known as the Gold Standard in laser hair removal. You will see permanent results from the very first treatment!

How ChillTip

1. Skin is cooled before and during the treatment.

2. Skin is compressedĀ and the laser beam is applied to the skin and the follicle is damaged.

How HITā„¢

1. The vacuum gently draws the skin into the handpiece. The skin is stretched thin and the target is pulled closer to the energy source.

2. Energy is applied to the target in which melanocytes are spread apart and blood flow is constricted.Ā

3. Target is damaged and skin is released.
