There is no way to predict how many laser hair removal sessions a guest will need. We can tell you that our LightSheer Duet Laser Hair Removal machine is new (January 2022); it’s manufactured in North America; and has Gold Standard ‘Diode’ Technology — allowing you to get the most for your money!
At Brooklin Laser Hair Removal Clinic & Spa, we are transparent about treatment times. Although most hair is reduced in 3 treatments, it’s just not possible for all the hair to be gone forever in that timeframe, regardless of the laser machine being used. You may have quicker results if you have had previous laser hair removal treatments or have super fine, low-dense hair.
And, here’s why:
Because 1/4 to 1/3 of the actively growing pigmented hair roots are damaged or destroyed in any one session, almost all people will want a minimum of four treatments to reach a satisfactory degree of hair reduction, and many people will wish to have more than four treatments, most commonly five to six treatments. In cases — for the reasons listed below in bullet format — additional sessions may be required directly after a package is complete; a few months later; a year later; or even many years down the road. This helps eliminate any new black or brown hairs that develop when dormant follicles started to produce hair, or when peach fuzz hair follicles mature and start to produce black or brown hair pigment.
The number of treatments desired will depend on:
- the desired degree of hair reduction (as the number of hair declines, some people become very enthusiastic and want even less hair than they had originally planned on)
- hair density (people with dense hair commonly need more treatments)
- hair colour (people with naturally light coloured hair sometimes need more treatments)
- ethnic and genetic background (people with dark skin sometimes need more treatments)
- hormonal status (puberty, pregnancy, menopause, etc.)
- medical conditions such as autoimmune diseases, hirsutism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), etc.
- area being treated (upper lip, labia and other hormonal or public areas commonly need more treatments)
- age
- weight (obesity can increase hair growth)
- medication (for example medicines like Dilantin and cyclosporine can increase hair growth)
- between appointment maintenance (shave only — if the hair is plucked, tweezed, threaded, waxed or pulled out in any way between treatments, it will negatively affect the laser hair removal progress)
- consistency and frequency of treatments (catching the Anagen phase. A hair that has stopped growing or is no longer in the anagen phase).
NOTE: An additional ‘touch-up’ treatment on a small troublesome spot or area can be arranged between each treatment, no questions asked! There is no safety limit on the number of treatments a person can have. White or fine hair may be treated with electrolysis at the time of your laser appointments. Please click here for information.

One day prior to your appointment, please shave the treatment area. DO NOT pick, pluck, tweeze, thread or wax between laser appointments as doing so will lessen the effect of the laser treatment.
Two weeks before treatment do not: Expose treatment area to the direct sun (tanning beds or natural sun); apply self-tanner to the area; or wax, tweeze/bleach/electrolysis the area.
Two weeks before treatment no: Dermal-filler or botox, if having laser on that area.

Laser hair removal on the face, underarms, arms and legs can be booked every 4 to 6 weeks, and on the trunk (back, shoulders, chest, stomach, pelvis and buttocks every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the guest’s individual hair growth cycle. From the clinical and biological data provided by our National Trainer at Clarion Medical Technologies Inc., our experiences and past practices, we ‘typically’ recommend every 6 weeks for full body, face to toes hair removal.
NOTE: If you notice your hair growing sooner or later than the recommended times listed above, we ask that you please contact us to change your pre-scheduled appointment time. This way, we can catch your unique hair growth cycle, enabling you to get the most out of your treatments.

When purchasing a buy a medium or a large package and receive a small package FREE, please book your appointments 6 weeks apart so that both medium/large and the small can be completed in 1 session for each of the 6 sessions. We will monitor your unique hair growth cycle and modify if needed.
FULL BODY PACKAGES
When purchasing full body packages, please book your appointments 6 weeks apart so that head, limb and trunk areas can be completed at one time in a 45/75/90 minute treatment time. When hair growth pauses, seizes or slows down on an area, you are welcome to book single service laser sessions for the duration of your treatments. For example, booking just a Brazilian single treatment every 6 to 8 weeks until the stubborn hairs are gone.
Missing an appointment does not mean starting over. However, for maximum results, it’s best to stick to your hair growth schedule.
HOW LASER WORKS
Lasers create a beam of highly concentrated light that penetrates deep into the skin where it delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. The laser is only effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to destroy numerous follicles at a time and leaves the surrounding skin unaffected. Once these follicles are destroyed, the hair should not regrow even if you miss your next treatment session. It is possible, however, for a new follicle to develop over time, and get new hair growth.

Yes. For sanitary/hygiene purposes, a $17 disposable tip fee will be applied to each laser session requiring the large hand-piece
Full body laser hair removal session often require 2 tips.
It is not uncommon for 3 tips to be used on guests with a lot of hair on the first few sessions of their full body treatments.
You are welcome to shave any face or body part between appointments, but please do not pick, wax, thread or pluck.
Won’t shaving make my hair grow back thicker? No that’s a myth. Shaving hair does not change its thickness, colour or rate of growth. Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or ‘stubbly’ for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker — but it’s not.
Please come with your hair about 3 mm long to ensure maximum results.
You’ll probably feel a momentary heat sensation or pinch. Discomfort is minimal for most people, but individual tolerances vary greatly. Keep in mind that some areas of the body are much less sensitive than others. Many people read, listen to music or even take a nap while being treated.

Yes! Electrolysis is effective for all skin types, hair types, skin colours, hair colours, and areas of the body. Regardless of the cause — heredity, metabolic, or hormonal conditions — electrolysis will permanently remove unwanted hair to reveal a glowing, confident you.
Depending on the area, it could be a few minutes and up to an hour for a larger area. Most people who follow the recommended treatment plan can expect an entire area to be completed within 12 months. Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair presented, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, certain medications and stress influence the treatment program for each individual.
Excessive hair growth, also known as hirsutism, can range from fine, vellus hair to dark, coarse hair on the face and body. Breaking down the hair growth cells on deep, coarse hairs may require more than one treatment. Based on a personal and confidential consultation, your aesthetician will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs.
Waxing is best when hair growth is about 1/2 cm long.

What happens if you can’t cleanse before seeing us? No worries, we’ve got you covered. All facials come with a face cleanse and tone prior to the treatment.
Our licensed aestheticians will welcome you into our spa and take time to consult with you about your skin concerns. They will ask questions about your skincare regime, products, diet and water intake.
Our aesthetician will then take you into one of our spa rooms that has been specially prepped for you with dimmed lights, lightly scented natural candles, calming music and a relaxing fireplace. You will then be left alone for a few minutes to get under the freshly washed blankets and to make yourself comfortable.
Upon return, our aesthetician will wrap your hair with a headband and cleanse your skin. Depending on which facial you are receiving, your skin (face, neck, décolleté) could be steamed, exfoliated, massaged and masked. During the facial or mask application, you will receive a hand and/or arm massage with a warm towel application.
The final step includes an application of toner, serum, moisturizer, thermal concentrate water and sunscreen (daytime).
You may request an add on to compliment your appointment but it is always best to schedule the add on at the time of booking to ensure there is enough time.

Yes, there is a mild mild discomfort. A topical anesthetic is optional, but recommended.
Dermaroller® is the original micro-needling devise. Its surgical-grade micro-needles penetrate to the needed depth in the dermis causing ‘pin-point bleeding’ and triggering the body’s spontaneous healing response. Identifying a small dot of blood means that the needed depth has been reached. This controlled injury underneath the skin’s surface causes the body to respond through the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibres, as well as new capillaries for an improved blood supply in the treated area. The skin plumps and thickens in response to this stimulus ultimately reducing the appearance of scars and fine lines and other skin texture changes.
The micro-channels created by the needles allow skin care products and serums to penetrate and absorb deeper into the skin delivering more powerful results. These pinpricks kick-start your skin into healing mode which stimulates collagen and elastin production. The Collagen and elastin production plumps skin and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, sunspots, large pores, uneven skin tone and other types of scars and skin elasticity.
Recovery can vary but generally the skin will be pink or red appearance for 24 – 48 hours, much like a sunburn with some minor bleeding and very occasionally some mild bruising and/or scabbing. The skin may also feel warm, tight and itchy for a short while. Generally the inflammatory reaction of the skin is usually short and fades significantly after a couple of days on average, depending on the skin colour of the individual. It may take longer for older clients or with a more sensitive skin type.
Side effects and risks are minimal with this type of treatment and typically include minor flaking or dryness of the skin, with some mild scab formation in rare circumstances. Since the tiny pricking channels close within minutes, and provided the procedure is done under clinical conditions, infections are extremely rare. Small white skin spots (milia) may also form on the skin which can be treated if these are persistent. As this is a non-ablative treatment, hyper-pigmentation or darkening of the skin area treated is highly unlikely but can very rarely occur.
A series of 3 treatments is recommended, with 6 weeks between treatments and an annual treatment after that.
Your service begins with a thorough cleansing with Dermaroller® gentle Skin Cleanser. When the treatment begins, Dermroller® Dermroller® CIT Hyal, micronized and concentrated Hyaluronic Acid Gel will be applied to your face to help the eDermastamp® gently glide over your skin. The eDermaStamp® Needle, is a single use, medical grade stainless steel micro-needle module that typically feels like a slight vibration, and almost like a massage with tingling on your skin. During the collagen induction process, the tiny needles in the eDermastamp® will penetrate through your skin creating tiny micro-lesions. The durability of microblading is dependant on many factors including:
1. The skin – If you have very oily skin or sweat excessively , the pigment may get pushed out of the Epidermis faster than a dry skin.
2. External factors – sunlight exposure, chemical peels, laser treatments, creams can also affect the durability of pigment significantly.
Procedure takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Healing process takes between 25-30 days.
Touch-up appointments may be recommended after 45 days and can take approximately 45 minutes.
Consequently, many people feel the permanent eyeliner procedure causes some discomfort, but often not anywhere near the pain the person was anticipating.
Permanent lip work is more painful than the eyes, but we are told over and over again, the results are well worth it.
Scalp Micropigmentation treatment typically lasts 4-6 years. After that time, a guest may experience some slight fading, to which they can come back in for a quick touch up.
Most guests can expect between 2-4 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring. These treatments are usually spaced about 10-20 days apart.

With artistic experience on how to fit a hairline to head shape and age, she can assist in recommending what’s best. Over the course of your sessions you can also tweak and adjust the hairline for a perfect result.
No. Scalp micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics, but unlike tattoo ink, the scalp micro-pigment is designed to fall within the same colour spectrum of short cut hair. The pigment contains no additional colorants or additives and will only lighten, not discolor over an extended time.
Scalp micropigmentation also utilizes different equipment than traditional tattooing, ensuring the needle and machine are designed specifically for micropigmentation of the scalp.
FreezPen treats all types of common non-malignant skin lesions: warts, dark spots, liver/age spots, skin tags, moles, keratosis, angiomas, fibromas, milia, molluscum contagiosum and more. Please note that any types of malignant or suspicious growths need to be treated by a certified dermatologist.
Your lesion is expected to fall off 2-4 weeks after the treatment. Some lesions are more persistent and may take longer to disappear.
The treatment is comfortable and doesn’t hurt. It feels like a light pinch. There is no need for local anesthesia.
Most lesions require one treatment. Large lesions, such as warts, may require 1-2 follow up treatments.
Immediately after. Treatments involve zero downtime.
FreezPen cryotherapy is the safest modality for the removal of unwanted skin growths. Since FreezPen treatments are non-invasive and precise, the risk of scars and infections is significantly diminished when compared to other invasive treatments.
FreezPen treatment usually takes no more than a few minutes. The duration of the treatment depends on the number of treated lesions, the number of freeze-thaw cycles and the duration of freezing.
As many as you like. There is no limit on the number of lesions per session.
Yes, children are most commonly treated for warts and Molluscum Contagiosum. FreezPen cryotherapy is a tolerable modality suitable for both children and adults.
Yes, FreezPen treatment is safe for everybody.
Although FreezPen cryotherapy is the safest treatment today for the removal of skin lesions, a few rare side effects may still occur. These side effects include:
- Pigmentation – Temporary pigmentation is rare but possible because melanocytes are more susceptible to sub-zero temperatures. FreezPen minimizes the risk of collateral damage to healthy skin tissue, so the risk of pigmentation is minimized as well.
- Blisters – temporary blisters may appear in the lesion area due to fluids that are released from destroyed lesion cells.
- Hair loss – like melanocytes, hair follicles are more susceptible to sub-zero temperatures. Hair follicles in the treated area are more likely to be affected, thus hair may not grow back in the area of the lesion after cryotherapy.

Example 1: You purchased an underarm laser hair removal package and completed one session before deciding to upgrade to the full body laser hair removal package. No problem! Consider your first completed session (underarm laser hair removal) ‘on us’ — our $75 plus hst = $84.75, gift to you!
You simply pay the difference between the underarm package ($375 plus hst = $423.75) and the full body package ($5180 plus hst = $5853.40).
The math: $5853.40 minus $423.75 = $5429.65 including hst owed to BLHRCS.
Example 2: You purchased a Brazilian laser hair removal package and received a free lip laser hair removal package during a promo. You completed one session of the Brazilian hair removal and one session of the lip laser hair removal before deciding to upgrade to the full body package. No problem! Consider your first completed session (Brazilian laser hair removal) ‘on us’ — our $150 plus hst = $169.50, gift to you!
Because the free small package promotion was broken, you simply pay for the single session of lip laser hair removal ($55 plus hst = $62.15) plus the difference between the Brazilian laser hair removal package ($750 plus hst = $847.50) and the full body package ($5180 plus hst = $5853.40).
The math: $5853.40 minus $847.50 plus $62.15 = $5068.05 including hst owed to BLHRCS.

Example 1: You purchased a half leg laser hair removal package and completed three sessions then decide to upgrade to the full body laser hair removal package. No problem! Consider your first completed session (half leg laser hair removal) ‘on us’ — our $190 plus hst = $214.70, gift to you!
You simply pay for the half leg laser hair removal completed single session number two ($190 plus hst = $214.70) and completed single session number three ($190 plus hst = $214.70), plus the difference between the half leg laser hair removal package ($800 plus hst = $904) and the full body package ($5180 plus hst = $5853.40).
The math: $5853.40 minus $904 plus $214.70 plus $214.70 = $5379.80 including hst owed to BLHRCS.
Example 2: You purchased a full leg laser hair removal package that came with a free lip package, and completed one session of each in May. Because it was the summer and you were outside poolside every day, you decided to use the balance sessions in the fall, however, wanted to take part in a sale and decided to purchase a bikini laser hair removal package in August that came with a free underarm package. Because there was no sun exposure expected on the areas, you decided to use one bikini laser hair removal session and one underarm laser hair removal session. In, November, you decided upgrade to the full body laser hair removal. No problem! Consider your first completed session (full leg laser hair removal) ‘on us’ — our $350 plus hst = $395.50, gift to you!
